August 2025 - What's Under Your Sink?
Are you still trying to stuff one more thing under the sink and wondering why it’s not fitting? Well, now it’s time to address that issue.
Take all the items from under your sink. Wow, I’m sure you forgot about a few of the things behind the wastebasket, right?
Are there any items that don’t belong under the sink? How about those items you stopped using years ago, such as makeup? Cold creams? Ageless formulas? Hazardous Waste?
Depending on the plumbing under your sink, you can buy a drawer system that fits in that space to help you organize certain categories. You may want to use a drawer for all your dental needs, another drawer for ointments and first aid items, etc... Take a look at the items you use and try grouping them into a category.
Here are some great under the sink storage ideas:
- A few categories to help you sort can be: makeup, hair, nails, lotions/soap, dental, first aid, and travel.
- If you travel a lot, you may want to keep a cosmetic bag packed. I have a travel size of all the items that I use on a trip. This takes a lot less stress for me when it comes to packing.
- I also have a makeup bag that I have all the items that I use on a daily basis. In the morning, I pull it out, and when I’m done with it, I can put the bag back in the drawer and the counter stays clean.
- Other items that come in handy are using shoeboxes to store like items together. I haven’t met a woman who doesn’t have multiple lotions and soap/bath gel.
- You may even want to gather a group of cleaning supplies under the counter so if you have 5 minutes, you can quickly clean the sink, counter and mirror and off you go to start the day!

Here is an example of under the sink organizers. Again look at the plumbing and measure your opening. I also put bottles into small plastic containers so instead of removing 6 bottles, I remove 1 container. This also helps in case anything leaks, it gets contained in the plastic container.
