Hello, Friends!

What are some projects that you can check off your list so the next few weeks run a little smoother? Let’s dig into the bathrooms and prep for guests. Pull everything out of the cabinets and look at the medication expiration dates. Make decisions on what you are going to keep on hand. To safely dispose of your expired medication, you can call your local police station. Many of them have boxes where you can drop off your expired medication. Or, you can use this handy site for locating the drop off site nearest you https://www.michigan.gov/opioids/find-help/panel-dispose/find-a-takeback-location. I find that it’s helpful to have a few small baskets on hand or a few shoe boxes. These will help you corral your items. Once you’ve emptied the bathroom cabinets. Place your items into categories that make sense for you and/or your family. Here is a list of categories that you can use: Use as needed – cough medicine, allergy, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen - Basket for Band-Aids, sprains and first aid - Basket for ointments - Hot water bottle and gel packs - Extra toiletries and hygiene products - Basket for makeup, nail items and lotions - Don’t forget to label your baskets too! Now getting ready for your guests: Take inventory of your towels, hand and facecloths for your guests. Are there any towels that need to be retired? At the same time, take a look at your linens and make sure you have sheets for the guest beds. Deep clean the bathroom – fan, tub, sink, toilet, walls, light fixture and floor. Add some extra toilet paper, kleenex and perhaps paper towels. Follow me at https://www.facebook.com/logicalplacementorganizing for weekly organizing tips or on Instagram @logical_placement. It’s a great idea to put together a little basket of toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner, and maybe some OTC medication. Guests should have access to a hairdryer and if you have an extra curling iron or straightener. |
Do you have shelving that you want to install into the shower or bath area to give you more room for quick access to the toiletries. Or maybe clear off a little room for your guests to place their toiletries on.If you need more storage room, you can install a shelving unit above the toilet |
